A low-growing, densely packed shrub with rich-green, textured foliage. Vines will tend to spread, but a bushier habit can be maintained with pruning. Will reach 4-6' tall and 3-4' wide.
This dwarf Chinese elm is praised for its bark and growth habit. Its leaves appear in spring on short, twiggy shoots, and its heavily-textured bark is exposed in the winter when leaves disappear. Bark with thicken and get more gnarled with age. This variety slowly grows 6-10' tall and wide and is commonly used for bonsai and rock gardens.
