Broadleaf Evergreen

Illicium floridanum 'Swamp Hobbit'

The 'Swamp Hobbit' is a low-growing, shade tolerant evergreen that was discovered in Florida and was praised for its unique features. It has a spreading, mounding habit and will grow 2' tall and 4' wide. It does best in wet soils and can withstand a good bit of shade. Small, red flowers will appear in mid-spring, adding contrast against the deep green foliage. Deer resistant.

Pieris japonica 'Bisbee Dwarf'

The 'Bisbee' is a compact, dwarf variety, growing 3' tall and 4' wide. White, urn-shaped flowers emerge in April, completely covering the plant. New growth on glossy, green leaves is dark red when it first appears.
