The Harry Lauder's Walking Stick is prized for its winter appearance, with thick, contorting branches and drooping, yellow catkins that appear on the stems in late winter. They have broadly, ovate green leaves from spring through fall. Will grow 8-10' tall and wide.
The 'Lois' Magnolia produces creamy, yellow blooms in mid-spring before new foliage emerges. It is a mid-sized, upright variety that will reach 20-30' tall and 18-20' wide.
Narihira' is a mounding, evergreen variety that will reach 3-4' tall and wide. Its narrow, dark-green foliage is contrasted with yellow flowers in the fall.
Winter Sun' has leathery, spine-toothed foliage and will reach 6-8' tall and 4-5' wide. It produces bright-yellow flowers in late winter, followed by blue fruits in spring.
The 'Fuyu' persimmon will produce bright orange fruit that ripens in late fall. Fruit is good for both cooking and eating fresh. Some varieties are self pollinating, but most require a male and a female to produce fruit. Will get 20-30' tall and wide.
