Lemon Glow' is a non-invasive variety with vibrant, yellow foliage. Its great for adding a pop of color to your landscape, but its small size makes it useful for container gardening. It will grow 2-3' tall and wide. Prefers full to part sun and well-draining soils. Deer resistant.
Plants are vigorous, producing long shoots from soil level one growing season and bearing fruit the next. These are removed after bearing and replaced by the current year's growth. This makes the plant easy to prune and manage as a bush. Large fruit clusters with good flavor ripen in August each year. Berries have very high anthocyanin content--very good for you! This is the more productive variety, but both varieties are required for cross pollination in a ratio of 1 Samyl : 5 Samdal.
This variety will provide good cross-pollination when paired with the Samdal variety. Samyl has particularly high-quality flowers.has a vigorous, bushy habit that is similar to Samdal, but not as dense. Plants are partially self fruitful, but planting two S. nigra cultivars will assure better fruit production for both.
The hardy red kiwi produces cranberry-red fruits with a sweet-tart flavor. Kiwis are ready to be harvested September through October. It can grow 8-10' tall and wide when trained onto a trellis. Needs a hardy male kiwi for pollination.
The 'Raspberry Shortcake' is a thornless variety that grows 2-3' tall and wide. Its compact nature makes it great for container gardening. Berries will ripen in late-July or early-July.
The 'Yellow Anne' variety produces sunshine colored fruit with a hint of apricot flavor. Sweet, firm berries are great for jams, tarts and salads. First crop will ripen early-July through August and second crop will ripen September through frost. Will get 4-6' tall and 3-4' wide.
Northern Starburst' has deep-green foliage that turns burgundy-red in the fall and winter. It has a compact, rounded growth habit and will reach 3-4' tall and wide.
