The 'Coral Bark' maple is prized for its vibrant, red bark that is exposed in the winter. Its vibrant, green foliage is edged with red margins and turns golden-yellow in the fall. This variety has a dense, upright growth habit and will reach 15-25' tall and 15-20' wide at maturity. Prefers morning sun and afternoon shade. An excellent specimen tree.
The 'Green Beauty' is a dense, mid-sized variety with glossy green foliage that is tipped with burgundy-red in the wintertime. It will reach 3-5' tall and wide at maturity and maintains a rounded growth habit.
The 'Shimpaku' is a very popular variety for bonsai and topiary specimens, but it adds a unique texture when added to garden landscapes. It has an upright, reaching habit and will grow 4-6' tall and wide. Attractive, peeling bark develops with age.
The 'Compressa' is a dwarf variety with an extremely compact, tight growth habit. It will reach 2-3' tall and 1-2' wide and is often used in rock gardens.
This low-growing evergreen provides multiple seasons of interest, with fragrant white flowers emerging in the spring and blackish-blue berries appearing in summer. This variety grows best in partial to full shade with organically rich, well-drained soil. Grows 1-2' tall and 2-4' wide.
