Eastern Redbud. The Eastern redbud is known for its vibrant, pink blooms that emerge in early spring and cover every inch of its branches before foliage appears. It will reach 20-30' tall and 25-35' wide at maturity. Foliage emerges dark purple and ages to rich-green.
The 'Carmine Jewel' is a dwarf, shrub-like variety that will grow 6-8' tall and 4-6' side. Cherries are dark red with a small pit and their combination of sweet and tart flavor makes them great for pies, juicing and fresh eating. This variety is extremely cold-hardy and produces consistently heavy yeilds, especially when planted in multiples. Fruit will ripen in mid-late August.
The 'Romeo' explodes with showy, white, fragrant flowers in the spring, and is later covered in dark, purple-red berries in the summer. These berries have a high sugar level, creating the perfect sweet-tart cherry flavor, great for cooking, canning, jellies and jams. Grows 6-8' tall and 4-6' wide.
The 'Dunstan' chesnut bears heavy crops of large, sweet nuts that are great for eating, baking and roasting. This variety is a combination fo the American and Chinese chesnut and is resistant to chesnut blight. This tree will average at 30-50' tall and 15-20' wide. Fruit will ripen mid-September through October.
The 'Appalachian Snow' Dogwood is prized for its true-white flowers that bloom in mid-spring and its dark-red fall foliage. This variety will reach 20-30' tall and 20-25' wide at maturity.
The 'Cherokee Brave' is prized for its large, fuschia-pink blooms that emerge in mid-spring. It has a broad growth habit and will reach 20-30' tall and 25-35' wide at maturity. Fall foliage turns brick-red.
Cherokee Chief Dogwood. The 'Cherokee Chief' has a dense, broad growth habit and will reach 20-30' tall and wide at maturity. It is prized for its large clusters of fuschia-pink flowers that emerge in mid-spring.
Cherokee Princess Dogwood | The 'Cherokee Princess' has a broad, rounded growth habit and will reach 20-30' tall and 25-35' wide at maturity. It produces large, true-white flowers in mid-spring. Quite striking when planted as a specimen.
Nantucket' privet is a popular variety used in hedging, due to its dense, upright habit. It will grow 10-15' tall and wide and can be semi-evergreen in warmer climates. White flowers will appear in mid-spring.
The 'Ann' magnolia is a compact variety that produces vibrant, pink blooms in mid-spring before foliage emerges. It will reach 10-12' tall and wide and is a great specimen for smaller landscape spaces.
The 'Genie' is prized for its vibrant, purplish-fuschia blooms that appear in mid to late spring before foliage emerges. Mid-sized variety with an upright growth habit, reaching 10-12' tall and 4-6' wide. Flowers are extra large and striking when displayed on bare branches.
The 'Lois' Magnolia produces creamy, yellow blooms in mid-spring before new foliage emerges. It is a mid-sized, upright variety that will reach 20-30' tall and 18-20' wide.
The 'Prairifire' crabapple is a rounded, mid-sized variety that makes quite an impact. Vibrant reddish-pink blooms explode in mid-spring, covering every inch of the branches. In the fall, glossy red fruits appear and persist for months without dropping. This variety gets 15-20' tall and wide and is a perfect specimen tree.
Fire N Ice' is prized for its variegated foliage that emerges yellow and red in the spring and ages to dark green with white margins. White, bell-shaped flowers cover the plant in mid-spring. Will reach 4-5' tall and wide at maturity.
