Its flesh is light yellow, dense and firm- almost hard but give a truly unforgettable crunch. It is from these two traits, the color and crunch, where the Crimson Crisp gets its name.
Bred to be resistant to apple scab, the apple trees is upright and rounded and apples grow along new wood. This tree is great for residential and commercial orchards as the apples ripen in September and hold to the tree for 4 weeks.
This columnar variety produces beautiful white flowers in the spring, and bear golden yellow fruit that ripens in mid-September. The apples on the 'Golden Sentinel' tree are firm and sweet, and they are perfect for cider, baking and eating. It grows to be 10-12' tall and about 2' wide. Does well when paired with its sister variety, the 'Scarlet Sentinel'.
The 'Northpole' is a columnar variety that is great for small garden and patio gardening spaces. It produces beautiful clusters of white flowers in early spring and sweet, juicy apples that ripen in late-August through early-September. The fruit is similar to 'McIntosh' variety in flavor and is great for cider, baking and eating. They average out at 8-10' tall and 2' wide.
